Foothills Equestrian
Center, 96 acres, nestled in the scenic foothills of the Bethlehem area of
Alexander County, is conveniently located just minutes from Hickory. F.E.C.
draws horse enthusiasts from Lenoir, Statesville, Newton, and the
surrounding areas.

F.E.C. offers a
150' x 60' covered (or "indoor") lighted arena , a
120' x 240' lighted show arena with jumps, a 66' x 132' dressage arena
and a 60' round pen. These all have sand footing for year round use. The farm
has many picturesque trails with jumps, stream crossings, and a waterfall.
There is access to many more trails on the neighboring properties. |

The stable houses 30 12 x
10 box stalls. Horses are fed grain 2x daily. Weather permitting, they are
turned out daily in small same-sex groups. Horses are fed grass hay both in the
stall and paddocks.

QUALITY
CARE
F.E.C.’s owner, manager,
and head instructor Dana Dewey, resides on the farm. She has been boarding
horses for over 30 years in the Hickory area. American Riding Instructors
Association certified, Ms Dewey has been teaching horsemanship for over 40
years. She regularly attends clinics and keeps up-to-date on all aspects of
horse care and handling.

finest affordable and complete care to the horses stabled at F.E.C., a
team of highly regarded professionals can provide health care services
contracted thru FEC. From yearly vaccinations, routine hoof care and
dentistry to acupuncture and massage therapy our team of veterinarians,
farrier and therapists offer the best care for a happy and healthy horse . |

QUALITY INSTRUCTION
The instruction at F.E.C.
is dedicated to developing a competent and safe horseman, whether refining
skills for competition or just to provide greater harmony and enjoyment of
the horse. When the weather prohibits work outside, classes are
held in the covered arena.

SOMETHING
FOR ALL
F.E.C. offers something
for everyone from the serious competitor to the casual trail rider. Students
compete at area Hunter Shows, Dressage Shows, Combined Tests, Horse Trials, and
Hunter Paces. Other students enjoy Fox Hunting or Trail Rides at the area parks.

During the summer months F.E.C. offers very
popular Horsemanship Camps for both youth and adults. F.E.C. also brings leading
horseman in for clinics. The farm hosts Hunter Shows, Dressage and Combined
Tests, and Hunter Paces. Other activities included : Pot lucks, Gymkhanas,
Halloween Party & Costume Contest and Cookouts. F.E.C. offers unique social
opportunities for the whole family!!

AFFORDABLE
CARE
effective 3/1/2011
FULL BOARD $325.00/mo
includes stall board, feeding twice daily, small group turn
out. Vet and farrier services billed additionally.
TRAINING BOARD $500.00/ mo
includes all of full board. Training/schooling conducted average of
five times per week. Lessons in addition.
CUSTOM BOARD Also available:
Special feeds, additional feeding times, private turn out, grooming,
medicating, exercise riding and ground work. Fees according to
services/ products. Individualized programs available.
FULL & PARTIAL LEASING by
special arrangement. Please inquire.
CONTRACT
SERVICES
All contract services arranged
through the stables, such as vet and farrier, are billed separately
and are in addition to the above fees. Foothills does not take a
markup on services billed through our accounts. In fact, our
clients receive discounts due to our volume of business with these
professionals.
The following professional
services can be contracted through the stables. Owner does not need
to be present to handle their horse unless so desired. These
services are offered to all levels of boarding.
