Boarding 

Our peaceful and convenient location is but minutes from Hickory, Newton, Conover, Lenoir, Taylorsville, and Statesville.  the Bethlehem community is just across the Catawba river from the North edge of Hickory city limits and 2 1/2 miles from the Catawba River Bridge.  We own 96 acres including scenic wooded, open and riverfront trails along with deeded right of ways on surrounding rural properties that gives our boarders miles of  private trails to explore without crossing roads or even opening a gate!  Boarding your horse with a community of active riders means you can meet like minded souls and always have friends to ride with.  You can accommodate your busy schedule and still know that when you must be away your horse will have the best possible care from dedicated professionals.

Amenities include;

 

  • 150' x 60' covered, lighted indoor arena, with connected viewing lounge.

  • 39000 square foot hunter/ jumper show arena with lights, jumps, all weather sand surface and permanent P.A.

  • 20 m x 40 m dressage arena

  • 60' lighted round pen

  • free paved trailer parking

  • secure tack lockers

  • wash rack

  • multiple grooming areas

  • heated and air conditioned lounges, restroom, class room and meeting spaces.

  • owners live on site for 24 hour 7 day a week security

  • We are never closed to boarders

 

Boarding

 

Stabling includes 30 12'x10' and 4 12'x12' box stalls. Horses are fed 2x daily (or more often as contracted) and are turned out daily, weather permitting in one of our 15 spacious turnout areas.  Turnout paddocks are from 1 to 15 acres and house same sex groups of  3 to 5 horses carefully selected to match dispositions and ensure harmonious socialization.  Grass hay and ample water are provided during turn out free choice year round.

 

 

 

To offer the finest in affordable and complete care, a team of highly regarded professionals provides health care services contracted through board accounts. From yearly vaccinations, routine hoof care and dentistry to acupuncture and massage therapy our team of veterinarians, farrier and therapists offer the best care for a happy and healthy horse .  

 

Foothills' owner, manager, and head instructor Dana Dewey, resides on the farm providing you with the peace of mind of on site security and 24 hour care.  We never close to our boarders.  With a life time of experience caring for horses, and an ongoing dedication to learning the best new techniques, she has provided the Hickory area with the best boarding options since 1979.
